Episode 131

131 The simplicity of the 4 steps of intuition.

Published on: 3rd February, 2022

The simplicity of the 4 steps of intuition.

Step one: Be Open

Being open is a constant process no matter how highly tuned you are; life continuously throws us curves to help us become highly tuned. This means we need to learn to quickly identify when we are out of tune with our intuition. The faster we rectify that, the fast we can move through the other steps!

Step Two: Expect ti to be there.

This means that you know intuition will come through and give you the signals when you need them. Not at your demand, but when you need them.

Step Three: Trust

If you did step two, basically, you are halfway there through step three. All you need to do is keep your eyes open for when to act. Trust also has a lot to do with knowing the difference between intuition, emotions, and logic.

Step Four: Act upon the information

Act on the information you receive, the idea the spark and synchronicity will follow. Make sure you act!

Until next time, keep it simple, be at ease with yourself, trust your intuition with light the way.

Speaker:

Hi, and welcome to episode 131.

Speaker:

And this episode, we're going to go back and dive a little

Speaker:

deeper into the four steps.

Speaker:

I'm getting the most out of your intuition.

Speaker:

And.

Speaker:

Engaging that more in your life and especially because we're here.

Speaker:

In your business.

Speaker:

So let's get into it.

Speaker:

Hi, I'm Kathryn Mahoney, and I'm passionate about intuition

Speaker:

business and living your best life and helping you navigate the

Speaker:

ups and downs of the wild ride.

Speaker:

We call life.

Speaker:

I'm an entrepreneur intuitive advisor, dedicated to guiding others to success,

Speaker:

I teach successful business leaders in honing their intuition, creating

Speaker:

certainty, and taking aligned action.

Speaker:

I'll give you a straight talk with humor.

Speaker:

Business, intuition and mindset are just a few of the topics we discuss here.

Speaker:

Be ready for fun.

Speaker:

Insightful journey with me, reveal hidden secrets, be challenged and inspired.

Speaker:

This is the Clearly Kathryn podcast.

Speaker:

So I'm going to go through the four steps quickly, and then

Speaker:

we're going to dive through them.

Speaker:

Individually, and we'll see where this takes us.

Speaker:

Here we go.

Speaker:

So step one.

Speaker:

Is being open.

Speaker:

Being open to intuition.

Speaker:

Step two.

Speaker:

Is knowing that your intuition is always available.

Speaker:

Expected to be there when you need it.

Speaker:

Step three.

Speaker:

Is trust that your intuition is going to give you the information you need.

Speaker:

To go down your path and get to the next level.

Speaker:

And step four.

Speaker:

Is the big one.

Speaker:

Is to act.

Speaker:

Act upon the intuition.

Speaker:

The information that's given to you.

Speaker:

And when you think about it, now it's four steps.

Speaker:

That's pretty easy.

Speaker:

I mean, four steps.

Speaker:

That's not complicated.

Speaker:

But then when we look at them a little bit closer, that's when

Speaker:

you start going, wait, what?

Speaker:

You know, be open to your intuition.

Speaker:

Oh, I'm opened intuition.

Speaker:

Are you.

Speaker:

And maybe you are.

Speaker:

That's great.

Speaker:

Maybe you're not as open to your intuition as you think you are.

Speaker:

And this is really important to stop and ask yourself.

Speaker:

It's an important question to ask.

Speaker:

Whenever you feel like you're waiting for a sign to come.

Speaker:

Because what happens is.

Speaker:

Maybe you're not as open as you think you are because you are

Speaker:

spending too much time thinking and too much time with your emotions.

Speaker:

They're fun.

Speaker:

They're exciting.

Speaker:

They got a lot to say.

Speaker:

Not always the best to hang out with all the time.

Speaker:

Because they will throw you off and they will close you off.

Speaker:

From your intuition.

Speaker:

If you get too caught in that, your intuition is always there.

Speaker:

But you're not open.

Speaker:

If you're not.

Speaker:

In that Goldilocks middle zone that I've talked about before.

Speaker:

Where you're releasing all that to do list all of those thinking,

Speaker:

all of that logic spur bad.

Speaker:

Sometimes you're going to need it, but release that because that can

Speaker:

really spin out that overwhelm.

Speaker:

And then push aside emotions, tell them, you know, right now you're

Speaker:

going to need a break people.

Speaker:

Because we need to get into that middle area.

Speaker:

And when you relax into being open to your intuition, showing up.

Speaker:

That's when things happen.

Speaker:

So being open to your intuition, isn't just saying.

Speaker:

I believe in intuition.

Speaker:

I know intuitions helped me.

Speaker:

I know when I have intuition, it's always right.

Speaker:

Great.

Speaker:

But there's still moments throughout your journey.

Speaker:

When you're not as open to intuition.

Speaker:

As you would like to be.

Speaker:

Or that you need to be.

Speaker:

And this is when you need to stop and ask yourself.

Speaker:

Why am I feeling overwhelmed?

Speaker:

What is going on?

Speaker:

I'm not as open to my intuition as I need to be.

Speaker:

How do I create that opening?

Speaker:

So if you think of yourself,

Speaker:

Standing there.

Speaker:

And you have a layer of this emotional goo on you and you have this armor of logic.

Speaker:

You don't have an opening.

Speaker:

For.

Speaker:

Intuition.

Speaker:

So here we are, we've got all of this stuff, so we need to

Speaker:

create an opening in there.

Speaker:

We need to open ourselves out.

Speaker:

We need to peel that away.

Speaker:

To be open to our intuition.

Speaker:

So have fun with it.

Speaker:

Don't be so rigid about it and relax a little bit.

Speaker:

Be nice to yourself.

Speaker:

Chill out

Speaker:

if you can chill out, you can begin to be open to your intuition.

Speaker:

And maybe ask yourself.

Speaker:

Maybe an open to it right now.

Speaker:

Am I being a little bit overwhelmed?

Speaker:

Because I want to repeat this again.

Speaker:

Being open to your intuition.

Speaker:

Is not just saying, I believe in intuition.

Speaker:

I trust my intuition.

Speaker:

My intuition is always right.

Speaker:

But I'm not finding it because I'm overwhelmed.

Speaker:

T that's the thing.

Speaker:

That's where we get locked up a little bit.

Speaker:

So being open means that you're giving the space for intuition

Speaker:

to come through clearly.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

There's open.

Speaker:

Step one, we'd done it.

Speaker:

We are open for intuition.

Speaker:

The store's open.

Speaker:

Now we need to do, now that we're open.

Speaker:

We need to expect it to come.

Speaker:

And you need to be ready for it to arrive.

Speaker:

We need to know that it will show up.

Speaker:

It's not going to stand us up.

Speaker:

It's not going to disappear.

Speaker:

It's not going to avoid us.

Speaker:

not going to ghost us.

Speaker:

. It's going to show up no matter what.

Speaker:

Thing is you need to know.

Speaker:

Intuition is always flowing to you.

Speaker:

So when you're open.

Speaker:

It will be flowing cleanly easily, clearly to you.

Speaker:

You will be able to understand the messages that come through.

Speaker:

Because you've opened up.

Speaker:

It will show up.

Speaker:

Now there's a difference here that I brought up the clarity

Speaker:

before we're going to go through it again, because you know what?

Speaker:

I just repeat things because sometimes I need my own reminders.

Speaker:

And so I share those reminders with you.

Speaker:

Expecting it to show up.

Speaker:

Is it not having an expectation of how it will show up.

Speaker:

It is not demanding how intuition will come to you.

Speaker:

It's not demanding how it will be there when it will be there.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

I've opened up.

Speaker:

It's a 6:00 PM.

Speaker:

Intuition should be arriving at 6 0 1 and it is going to come in the shape of.

Speaker:

Not how it works.

Speaker:

And I see this happening and hear people talk about it so often.

Speaker:

It's not that they're that detailed about it, but they're

Speaker:

like, okay, I'm being open.

Speaker:

I'm trying not to get into, too much other stuff.

Speaker:

Where's my intuition.

Speaker:

Come on, baby.

Speaker:

Show up.

Speaker:

It doesn't work like that.

Speaker:

And I have talked about that a lot lately, but I want to make it really clear that

Speaker:

here we are, we've opened up the space.

Speaker:

We've opened ourselves up.

Speaker:

We cleared away the clutter.

Speaker:

We've cleaned it all out.

Speaker:

We have.

Speaker:

The ability to have clarity in the messages that come through.

Speaker:

Just because you opened up, it doesn't mean boom, that second you're

Speaker:

can I get some kind of information?

Speaker:

It doesn't mean that.

Speaker:

It means that it will come to you.

Speaker:

But you need to relax and know without a doubt, you don't have to do anything.

Speaker:

You don't have to be looking forward or hunting for it.

Speaker:

Be.

Speaker:

Oh, aware of your surroundings.

Speaker:

And know when it comes through and accept it.

Speaker:

But if we push too hard or we expect, or we demand and that energy starts showing

Speaker:

up, you are now relearning all that crap.

Speaker:

When we got to start all over again with open, but because we're open

Speaker:

because we did that in step one or step two, we've cleared that away.

Speaker:

We are now aware that our intuition is going to come through without a doubt.

Speaker:

When we need it, when synchronicity will begin to occur.

Speaker:

So then we're going to move right into step three.

Speaker:

Step three.

Speaker:

Is that beautiful thing?

Speaker:

Coach west.

Speaker:

Now, some will say that trust.

Speaker:

Is the most difficult part.

Speaker:

I disagree.

Speaker:

The reason I disagree with this is because.

Speaker:

I find more people trust their intuition.

Speaker:

Then not.

Speaker:

The issue is they don't act upon it, but I know I'm moving ahead.

Speaker:

And moving ahead.

Speaker:

So let's, let's focus on this trust part.

Speaker:

Trust is.

Speaker:

Something you have to build.

Speaker:

You build trust in someone, they build trust with you.

Speaker:

How do they do that by continually showing up?

Speaker:

Oh, well we just did them in step two.

Speaker:

We know.

Speaker:

That intuition is going to continually show up.

Speaker:

So now we trust.

Speaker:

It's always going to show up.

Speaker:

We trust that the information is good.

Speaker:

So how do you continually to trust the information is good?

Speaker:

Well, again, unfortunately.

Speaker:

That relies on step four and we're not there yet.

Speaker:

So we got to get through this trust piece.

Speaker:

It's an interesting dynamic.

Speaker:

This trust on step three.

Speaker:

Because it relies so much on the other steps.

Speaker:

Relies on.

Speaker:

You being open.

Speaker:

And knowing it will show up.

Speaker:

You know, it will show up.

Speaker:

You don't question that your intuition will show up.

Speaker:

When it is.

Speaker:

The moment.

Speaker:

To do something.

Speaker:

So that is a little bit of trust.

Speaker:

Isn't it?

Speaker:

That's, part of trust.

Speaker:

So if you can lean into.

Speaker:

Knowing.

Speaker:

Your intuition will show up in step two.

Speaker:

And it will be there for you.

Speaker:

And give you the guidance you need chest when you need it.

Speaker:

When everything will line up.

Speaker:

That is a part.

Speaker:

Of the trust piece.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

So we already were trusting already that it's going to show up just when I need it.

Speaker:

The other part is trusting.

Speaker:

That it's giving me the right directions.

Speaker:

Well, that's something where maybe you track that.

Speaker:

Maybe you reflect upon when you're struggling, you reflect

Speaker:

upon all the times that intuition has giving you good directions.

Speaker:

Maybe you need to start understanding the difference between a.

Speaker:

Guidance.

Speaker:

Message from panicked emotion.

Speaker:

Or over need to do something.

Speaker:

Or some logical explanation that disguises itself as intuition to

Speaker:

you because you're so closed off from the clarity of intuition.

Speaker:

So you need to start identifying that difference because you

Speaker:

already know it's going to show up.

Speaker:

If you've made it through step two.

Speaker:

You're aware intuition will show up and it will show up just as you need to.

Speaker:

So that synchronicity happens.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

I'm going to repeat things because this is where people get caught up.

Speaker:

You already more than halfway there in this trust thing.

Speaker:

So make a note of it.

Speaker:

Track it, if you need to, because trust leads you into acting.

Speaker:

If you already know that intuition will give you the directions when you need

Speaker:

it to allow synchronicity to happen.

Speaker:

You believe it will take you in the direction that is best for you.

Speaker:

Then what do you do you go in to my favorite step, which I think is

Speaker:

the most challenging for people.

Speaker:

Step four.

Speaker:

Act upon your intuition.

Speaker:

So act upon your intuition.

Speaker:

If you.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

Open.

Speaker:

Signs up I'm open intuition signals can come in.

Speaker:

We're ready.

Speaker:

And you say, and I know you're going to show up just when I need it.

Speaker:

Just how I need to hear it.

Speaker:

Set me on the right path, just when I need to take action.

Speaker:

And I'm going to go into the trust piece because you always send me the right way.

Speaker:

I am going to act upon it.

Speaker:

See, it's really trust is like that launching pad that

Speaker:

takes you into acting upon it.

Speaker:

And that gives you the launch into the best part of life.

Speaker:

That was a magical moments of synchronicity, those moments

Speaker:

that you cannot explain to how things came together.

Speaker:

And this perfect sort of puzzle unexplained thing like, oh, these

Speaker:

things could never happen on their own.

Speaker:

That is when you act upon it.

Speaker:

In the moment in the window.

Speaker:

And it comes through to you.

Speaker:

In step two.

Speaker:

So step three is really that trust piece that allows you to.

Speaker:

Act upon it.

Speaker:

That acting upon, it shows that you trust it.

Speaker:

If you're able to act upon it and you must skip over three in a way, you

Speaker:

just kind of, it's a thing it's there.

Speaker:

So acting upon it, I find is the.

Speaker:

Catch for people.

Speaker:

It's where people get stuck.

Speaker:

Because acting upon it can be something like, oh yeah.

Speaker:

Oh yeah.

Speaker:

Call so-and-so make a note of it.

Speaker:

Never get around to it.

Speaker:

Opportunity lost.

Speaker:

They get an idea for something or opportunity lost if

Speaker:

they don't go through it.

Speaker:

You need to act upon it when it comes through, when it's this

Speaker:

kind of like, Ooh, I've got it.

Speaker:

It's like that.

Speaker:

Your guy.

Speaker:

Kind of thing, or you just driven that moment to follow through with

Speaker:

something or it inspires you excites you.

Speaker:

It.

Speaker:

Something that gives you a different kind of energy.

Speaker:

Go with it right then.

Speaker:

Because that's when things are about to come together.

Speaker:

And if you're wandering around trying to figure out what to do with things.

Speaker:

Allow that intuition to flow.

Speaker:

Open yourself up.

Speaker:

See what comes through and then act upon it because the acting upon it.

Speaker:

Is the trigger.

Speaker:

For synchronicity.

Speaker:

For events that cannot be explained that just come together

Speaker:

in that awesome, magical way.

Speaker:

That.

Speaker:

Are the best, honestly, they're the best.

Speaker:

So.

Speaker:

I want you to think about these steps.

Speaker:

I want you to think about how through your life, through your business.

Speaker:

You feel like, ah, I got it.

Speaker:

Step.

Speaker:

1, 2, 3, 4, boom.

Speaker:

I got it covered.

Speaker:

I only know what I'm doing.

Speaker:

This is not an issue for me.

Speaker:

I don't even have to think about it.

Speaker:

I'm in tune.

Speaker:

Two moments when things are a bit tough.

Speaker:

When you're overthinking things, when emotions are involved.

Speaker:

When you're feeling a little off.

Speaker:

When you've been sucker punched.

Speaker:

When you've made too much out of something.

Speaker:

And you can't find your way back through those again, and you don't

Speaker:

know which step you're on anymore.

Speaker:

Step back a minute.

Speaker:

It's only four steps.

Speaker:

Take a breath back.

Speaker:

Go back through them.

Speaker:

Though through step one, am I open?

Speaker:

Am I being overwhelmed?

Speaker:

Am I looking at too much logical information.

Speaker:

My thinking about it too much.

Speaker:

Are my emotions getting in the way or my emotions, trying to give me bad

Speaker:

directions, worst backseat driver ever.

Speaker:

Ask yourself, these questions.

Speaker:

And move that stuff out of the way.

Speaker:

And then go to step two.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

So I know intuition shows up when I need it.

Speaker:

I'm not going to demand it.

Speaker:

Just show up because I know it will show, so I don't even have to demand it.

Speaker:

It will always show up no matter,

Speaker:

what.

Speaker:

All the time, just when I need it.

Speaker:

So I can relax now.

Speaker:

I can not, because I have opened myself up and did the hard work.

Speaker:

I say one is one of the hardest jobs to is not too hard.

Speaker:

It's pretty easy, really.

Speaker:

I mean, It's going to show up.

Speaker:

Three.

Speaker:

Pretty much easy.

Speaker:

If you opened yourself up.

Speaker:

You're like, Hey, it's going to come.

Speaker:

It always shows up.

Speaker:

You pretty much have half to three already done.

Speaker:

So move right into four, basically be ready when it shows up.

Speaker:

No.

Speaker:

And the information comes, no, that it's come on time.

Speaker:

Trusted enough.

Speaker:

To take your action and then act upon it.

Speaker:

And ta-da.

Speaker:

You're back in the groove of intuition.

Speaker:

You will.

Speaker:

You out your life.

Speaker:

Throughout your business.

Speaker:

Have to remember these four steps over and over.

Speaker:

I do.

Speaker:

And I teach people how to do intuition in their business.

Speaker:

I give intuitive advice all the time.

Speaker:

I outsource my intuition.

Speaker:

And I still rely on these four steps.

Speaker:

Why.

Speaker:

Because we are constantly learning.

Speaker:

We are constantly.

Speaker:

Being.

Speaker:

Put in positions that give us opportunities to fine tune.

Speaker:

Who we are.

Speaker:

How we connect.

Speaker:

With the universal consciousness.

Speaker:

Which is intuition.

Speaker:

So when we relax.

Speaker:

Into that and no.

Speaker:

That we are constantly learning how to find tune.

Speaker:

And the ultimate goal.

Speaker:

It's to be able to recognize quickly.

Speaker:

When we're not open.

Speaker:

That's the truth of the matter.

Speaker:

When are you not open?

Speaker:

When are you feeling like you're not getting the information you need?

Speaker:

When are you feeling overwhelmed when you're feeling stressed?

Speaker:

When you feel on like, oh, motions are in the way.

Speaker:

You're not open.

Speaker:

Move that out of the way.

Speaker:

And the other steps will come easily.

Speaker:

Just make sure you act upon it.

Speaker:

It becomes that easy, quickly identify when you're not open.

Speaker:

We open yourself back up.

Speaker:

Move through.

Speaker:

Uh, expecting it'll be their trust to act upon it.

Speaker:

Boom.

Speaker:

You're there.

Speaker:

The key to it all.

Speaker:

Is recognizing when you're at out open.

Speaker:

So go through the four steps.

Speaker:

As often, whenever.

Speaker:

Zillion times throughout your life, couple of times during

Speaker:

your day, whenever you need it.

Speaker:

It is this.

Speaker:

Simple.

Speaker:

The hardest part is clearing away the clutter, to be honest with

Speaker:

you, that can be the hardest part.

Speaker:

Don't worry about the rest.

Speaker:

As you start to open up, the rest will fall into place.

Speaker:

So as I say, Keep it simple.

Speaker:

Be at ease with yourself.

Speaker:

And allowing tuition.

Speaker:

To light the path.

Speaker:
